Arcese at Green Logistic Expo from 7th to 9th March in Padua

A new and exceptional event for designing the future of logistics

From 7th to 9th March 2018 Arcese will be attending the first edition of Green Logistics Expo, the International Sustainable Logistics Exhibition, promoted by the Padua Interport and Fiera di Padova, which aims to create an opportunity for all professionals in logistics, transports and related services to meet. Efficiency and the environment will be the main focus at this event, showcasing top intermodal, industrial logistics, e-commerce and smart-city service providers and companies. The event will be structured into four sections – Intermodal, E-commerce, City&Logistics, Industrial Logistics and Real Estate – with focus on issues regarding the entire logistics chain, encouraging companies to engage in dialogue in a line up of conventions with inspiring keynote speakers.

“For Arcese, participation at the Green Logistics Expo will be an important opportunity for showcasing and sharing new projects by the Group." Paolo Saccomano, Head of Central Sales Marketing & Business Development at Arcese, adds "We will be present at the first edition with an exhibition space presenting numerous novelties in the fields of business and sustainability.

At Arcese, sustainability is an important business goal, concretely pursued and measured, as well as a key success factor that plays an increasingly important role in the logistics market

Over the last few years the Arcese strategy has focused on intermodal transports as an alternative to all-road production methods. The numbers speak for themselves: in 2007, 85% of services were carried out on-road and just 15% via rail and carriers. Today, the share of multi-modal production (rail -short sea) has risen to 35%. This is why the company has invested significantly into the development of an integrated network for European coverage, as well as new assets, ranging from state-of-the-art intermodal semi-trailers to traceability technologies. Paolo Saccomano offers his final thoughts:Unfortunately today this growth is partly slowed down by limits to service, capacity and infrastructure. This is why there has been a pressing need, not just in Italy, for an event of this calibre, bringing together sector professionals and constituting an opportunity for extensive discussion".

New Road Freight investments in Italy are just one example of the latest evolutions in store. New openings of direct branches have been scheduled over the next couple of years, in response to requirements for more widespread coverage throughout national territory and enhanced services for customers. The company remains firmly committed to the reduction of CO2 emissions and has set itself an ambitious objective: the creation of an exclusively Euro 6 and Euro 7 fleet, in three years time. But there's more: methane and electric last-mile delivery vehicles are operative in Italy too. The project is currently being developed on a European scale, indeed by the end of March a new distribution vehicle will be operative in the centre of London. After implementation in Great Britain, other vehicles will be introduced in Switzerland and Spain.

These are just some of many Arcese sustainable logistics initiatives which will be presented and discussed during the Green Logistics Expo. We look forward to seeing you at Pavilion 7, Stand B084, so that together we can discover logistics of the future!
