Arcese has opened a new branch in Milan. The Group’s multimodal platform has been operating since September

Sustainability, security, and innovation are the main characteristics of the Group’s new site, which is located in a strategic position for European logistics

The opening of the new Basiano branch (near Milan) is part of Arcese Group’s growth strategy in Europe. The site is located in one of Europe’s key logistics areas, and the new multimodal platform will support the expansion of the group’s offering with increasingly integrated and value-added services.

The 50,000 sq.m Class A2 facility covers an area of approximately 100,000 sq.m and was built according to the most advanced construction methods to minimise the environmental impact. The building stands out for its high energy efficiency and functionality. Essential criteria, such as correct exposure, the use of high-yield systems, and energy efficiency, were taken into account during the planning stage.

The results include the 280 kW photovoltaic system for the site’s direct consumption and the use of sustainable technologies, such as LED lighting, motion and daylight sensors, water recovery systems, and a charging station for the electric vehicles used for last mile deliveries. Moreover, the use of natural light has been maximised to improve work conditions and optimise energy consumption.

But the new site is not just about sustainability. It also boasts the highest security standards, thanks to the video surveillance systems installed both inside and outside of the building.

Also important is the fact that the new branch enjoys a strategic position – i.e. the Milan-Venice axis, at the intersection of the new Milan Outer Eastern Bypass (TEEM) – with respect to the main intermodal terminals in Northern Italy. Therefore, it will become an important point of reference for Arcese distribution services across Europe. In fact, the platform will be a fundamental junction for international lorry flows, thanks to multiple daily connections between Italy and the main European countries with standard and express services (FTL - LTL). A state-of-the-art site, also thanks to the Group’s Air&Sea division, import/export activities via sea and air, and larger space.

The working conditions will also improve, thanks to the introduction of ergonomic workstations for employees.

According to Arcese Group’s President, Matteo Arcese, “The new Basiano branch will create optimal working conditions and provide the Group with new opportunities for growth in the future. Ours is a dynamic company that is always looking into the future. That’s why we keep investing in development. And that’s why we are proud of this state-of-the-art site, which is a true excellence in the Italian logistics scenario. Our choice was based on three values that have always been essential for us: Innovation, which has always been and always will be our distinctive feature. Connectivity and the awareness of how important cooperation among colleagues is. These concepts are enhanced here by open spaces. Environmental sustainability, thanks to specific choices made in the planning stage, which allow us to help reduce the emissions generated by our activities.”
