XCA acquires Il Faldo and launches new operational projects

XCA, a company of the Arcese Group established through a joint venture with the Conti family, has completed the acquisition of the business unit of Autotrade & Logistics, which includes the transport division, the management of the Atessa yard and, most importantly, the management of the Il Faldo site—one of the largest automotive logistics platforms in Europe, located in Collesalvetti (Livorno).

The site, covering 700,000 m² and capable of hosting up to 30,000 vehicles, is equipped with an internal railway connection, a workshop, PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) activities, a modern body shop, customs services, and the capability to store vehicles under foreign status, along with a wide range of value-added services dedicated to the automotive sector.

The first results of the new industrial project have already arrived: in early November, XCA handled the unloading of over 1,100 Dongfeng vehicles, one of the “Big Four” of the Chinese automotive industry. For these activities, Dongfeng selected XCA as its strategic logistics partner for Italy and Europe, entrusting it with the full coordination of operations—from unloading to handling and storage of vehicles within the compound.

Confirming the attractiveness and competitiveness of the site, Il Faldo was subsequently also chosen by Changan, one of the leading Chinese automakers, for its logistics operations in Italy.

Il Faldo continues to represent one of the strategic compounds for Stellantis, a long-standing partner of the Arcese Group, with a consolidated collaboration that extends beyond finished vehicle logistics, encompassing various stages of the supply chain.

The acquisition of the site and the start of the first operations represent a significant strategic milestone for the Arcese Group, reaffirming its commitment to developing advanced logistics solutions and the market’s continued recognition of the company’s operational excellence and service reliability. Thanks to these new integrations, the Arcese Group can now offer a comprehensive end-to-end service for automotive logistics: from inbound to production plants, to finished vehicle logistics (FVL), up to spare parts logistics with warehouses and distribution.
