An event dedicated to safety and sustainability, during which the founder of the Arcese Group – the company that has written the history of Italian transport and logistics – received a special award
“The King’s Days" took place in Trento on 4 and 5 May 2019 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of "The King of the Road”, the V8 engine, and much more. The event was also an opportunity to raise awareness about the central role of this sector and the importance of industrial vehicle drivers among industry operators and the general public.
A large number of initiatives took place during the two-day event, including the exhibition of Italy’s best vintage vehicles, the inauguration of a museum dedicated to the 50 years of the V8, and a competition dedicated to safety and sustainability during which participants challenged each other to win the title of “Italy’s best driver”.
The event ended with a gala dinner, during which Italscania’s President and CEO, Franco Fenoglio, presented Eleuterio Arcese with a special award for his contribution to the history of Italian transport and logistics.
“Eleuterio Arcese has written the history of transport”, said Fenoglio during the award ceremony. “Born in Arce, he started working as a driver for a company based in Parma. Since then, he has come a long way, establishing a leading company in the European transport market. Eleuterio’s story intertwines with our country’s history and development of the Italian transport system and infrastructure network. Today, I have the pleasure and the honour to present this award to a great entrepreneur and friend. A man with strong roots in the history of Italian transport and logistics.”
Despite having already received a great number of awards during his extraordinary career, Eleuterio Arcese was visibly emotional when he thanked Italscania for the award and their precious collaboration with the Arcese Group.
