Arcese collaborates with Rosa Associati on the Discovery Kenya project, the charity initiative that aims at ensuring education and new opportunities through sports to children and youngsters of the West Pokot district, in the province of Rift Valley in Kenya.
This initiative falls within Arcese’s charity projects that links the company to sports as a opportunity for growing and sharing. Discovery Kenya aims at cultivating the passion for running to learn how to win in sports as well as in life.
The Kaptabuk Primary School is located in the West Pokot county and welcomes over 500 children and 12 teachers. For over 15 years, thanks to the Discovery Kenya project and the support of Rosa Associati, every year, hundreds of children have the opportunity to make the most of their talents, by studying and running. Thanks to Arcese’s support, the school could improve and extend the facilities by building a dormitory for the kids who live in distant villages.
Training camps are the heart of the training, as they provide numerous athletes with the possibility to start a career in sports. Over the years, these training camps have allowed young Kenyans to shape their talent for running while making use of the doctor’s office, the physiotherapy centre, and a wide range of training activities intended for the entire population.
This project includes two important races – Discovery Kenya Cross Country and Nyaruru Discovery Kenya 10 k – which attract numerous participants and enthusiasts from nearby villages.
The first race takes place in Eldoret. Every year, thousands of children and aspiring athletes of every age participate in an event that has become the most important cross-country race in Kenya. A true celebration of sports for the entire population.
The Nyaruru Discovery Kenya 10 k is the competition organised by Rosa Associati, which crosses Nyahururu home of numerous professional athletes including the Olympic Champion Samuel Wanjiru.
For over 20 years they have been involved in marketing and consulting in the world of sports at an international level, particularly in running, where they manage over 200 athletes worldwide. The company also promotes sports-related wellness projects aimed at particular categories of patients and children.
