ARCESE AND THE SUMBA PROJECT
Tradition, beauty, and hope for new generations.
These are the key words that describe the collaboration between Arcese and The Sumba Foundation.
The island of Sumba is a pristine jewel of Indonesia, a place where wild nature and ancient traditions blend together in a fascinating harmony.
A land that preserves its authenticity, along with a series of social challenges for the younger generations.
TOGETHER TO OVERCOME THE CHALLENGES OF EDUCATION
On the island of Sumba, widespread poverty, lack of access to education, and limited economic opportunities hinder the future of many young people.
It is in response to these challenges that Arcese decided to collaborate with The Sumba Foundation.
The common goal is to promote change through culture: Arcese scholarships to provide greater educational opportunities for the younger generations.
A STEP TOWARD INCLUSION AND GENDER EQUALITY
The island's challenges are exacerbated by deep gender inequalities, rooted in a traditional and still strongly patriarchal culture that limits the role of women in society.
Limited access to education prevents girls from reaching their full potential and restricts their economic and social opportunities.
For this reason, Arcese has decided to dedicate the scholarships to young girls, with the aim of ensuring equal opportunities for new generations and encouraging more equitable and inclusive participation in society.
