Arcese and Volvo: a collaboration that keeps growing stronger

Since 2001, the partnership between the two leading companies for the distribution of spare parts in Europe has kept growing stronger

On 17 October, Arcese’s branch based in Castel San Pietro Terme (Bologna) was the setting for a meeting organised by Volvo, which involved after-sales managers and representatives of a few major Volvo dealers based in Piedmont, Tuscany, Lazio, Marche, Umbria, and Apulia. The goal of the meeting was to confirm the key points of the Light LDC process, determining the operating status and highlighting the activities of the Local Distribution Centre (LDC) at their service.

Enzo Pavalanchi, Area Parts Logistic Manager for Volvo Car Italia S.p.A., who opened and guided the work session, stated: "The meetings' primary objective was to update the dealers on the LDC service's procedures and operating methods, as well as to highlight the results of the partnership with Arcese, which has been effective and efficient on all levels."

The event was the ideal moment to reinforce the partnership between Arcese and Volvo, as well as to highlight the countless points of contact between the two companies. By sharing the same objectives in terms of customer satisfaction and high operating standards, Arcese and Volvo confirm to be two companies perfectly aligned in the will to improve their processes.

The partnership between Volvo and Arcese dates back to 2001, when Volvo Italia outsourced its warehousing activities to Arcese, and has grown stronger ever since. In addition to Volvo's 3 LDCs, Arcese is currently responsible for the distribution of spare parts across Italy and Greece, where it delivers to 120 Italian and 22 Greek workshops and dealers.
Thanks to its efficient logistics service and timely shipping management, the orders are processed at increasingly faster rates. Deliveries are made the day after for stock orders or on the same day in certain parts of Italy, and within three days in Greece, when it comes to rush orders.
Some of the additional services offered by Arcese include reverse logistics, direct support services, and back office activities.

For years, Arcese has been managing flows from Sweden towards local warehouses, which cover the entire area of Benelux, in addition to the collection at Italian and Swedish suppliers to forward to the Gent-based factory.
A collaboration that is still growing after 15 years and that aims at improving the standards of transport and integrated logistics industries.
