New business perspectives thanks to the development of the new multimodal platform connected with all of Europe.
The construction of the Arcese Group’s new site in Basiano, near Milan has officially kicked off. Eleuterio and Matteo Arcese as well as Fausto and Mauro Ferrari - Fap investments, the company in charge of the real estate development - attended the ceremony.
The new Basiano site is part of Arcese Group’s growth plan and is located in one of Europe’s key logistics areas. It will allow the development of a multimodal platform to support the expansion of the group’s offering with increasingly integrated and value-added services.
The 55,000 sq.m building will be constructed over an area of approximately 100,000 sq.m according to the most advanced construction methods to minimise the environmental impact. The Class A building will be equipped with a 280 kW photovoltaic plant for the site’s direct consumption and will stand out for the use of sustainable technologies, such as LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, and a charging station for the electric vehicles used for last mile deliveries. The site will also feature the most sophisticated security systems to ensure the security of operations and goods at all times.
Moreover, the site enjoys a strategic position – i.e. the Milan-Venice axis, at the intersection of the new Milan Outer Eastern Bypass Road – compared to the main intermodal terminals in Northern Italy. Therefore, it will become an important point of reference for Arcese distribution services across Europe. In fact, the platform will be a fundamental junction for international flows, thanks to multiple daily connections between Italy and the main European countries with standard and express services (FTL - LTL). The Group’s Air&Sea division will also have greater operational space, thereby ensuring swift import/export activities via sea and air.
The site should be ready by the end of 2017 and will be developed by Fap Investments, a company based in San Zeno Naviglio, near Brescia, specialising in the development of real estate complexes across Italy and abroad. Fap stands out for the quality of its projects and the partnerships it builds with its clients. This project will add up to the 44,000 sq.m building developed for Decathlon, thereby creating a logistics hub of approximately 100,000 sq.m over an area of 200,000 sq.m.
This operation was made possible by Unicredit’s financial support, who has believed in this project.
“It’s a pleasure for us to renew and consolidate our partnership with Arcese Group,” said Fausto Ferrari, President of Fap Investments. “This important project confirms our ability to meet industrial real estate requirements with facilities and services of the highest quality while focusing on environmental sustainability."
Matteo Arcese agrees and adds: “It’s a very important and ambitious project for our company. This new hub will give us greater operational capability in terms of volumes and will allow us to improve our productivity and the efficiency of our services.”
